PUTNAM —  Richard Cyr, facility maintainer, has been named employee of the month for July at Day Kimball Healthcare.
As a facility maintainer, Cyr performs various maintenance, repair and installation tasks and completes work requests. He is responsible for assigned projects and responds to service calls, both of which require a wide range of skills, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, mechanics and building structure. 
Cyr joined DKH in June of 2011 as a Housekeeper II, and then transferred to his current position in February of this year. Prior to joining DKH, Cyr worked in the printing industry for more than 30 years. He attended Worcester State College, and earned a Certificate in Building Property Trades from the Motoring Technical Trade Institute (MTTI) in Seekonk, Mass. Cyr’s recreational interests include fishing and boating, and he has been recognized for his volunteer work in youth drug abuse programs. 
A resident of Thompson, Cyr and his wife, Debbie, have two sons, Craig and Jason.

Plein Air Check Exchange

POMFRET CENTER — Nationally acclaimed plein air artist, Barbara Lussier, partnered with Weiss & Hale Financial to bring her Sense of Place gallery show to over 200 attendees, sharing her locally-inspired landscapes and her commitment to donate a portion of artwork sales to the Day Kimball Hospital Woman’s Board, which provides support for our community hospital.   
The Woman’s Board recently completed a pledge of more than $107,000 to Day Kimball Hospital to fund equipment for the Birthing Center and to help purchase two new mammography machines.  They are currently planning gifts totaling $70,000 toward emergency room and urinalysis equipment.   
Woman’s Board President Cheryl Bozorgmanesh and Weiss & Hale Financial’s director of Marketing & Woman’s Board member, Deirdre Childs, recently received Lussier’s generous donation check.  
Barbara Lussier is a signature member of New England Plein Air Painters group, elected to the Hudson Valley Art Association & the Rockport Art Association and is an elected-by-jury member of the Academic Artists Association & the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.   Her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S. and was also selected for the movie set of, I Dream Too Much. Barbara is a philosophically direct descendant of the Old Lyme & the American Hudson River School painters. 
Weiss & Hale Financial supports cultural alliances such as this and has partnered with artists and local organizations to promote arts, wellness and tourism over the years .

DAYVILLE — Erica Smith, administrative assistant in the outpatient Sports Medicine Department, was named Employee of the Month for June at Westview Health Care Center. 
Smith has been employed at Westview since October 2013 and is responsible for day-to-day operations of patient scheduling and insurances, keeping the department organized and efficient, working with physician practices, medical record maintenance and more. Smith enjoys camping, kayaking, four-wheeling, baking and taking trips to places like Old Orchard Beach, Hershey Park and Boston. She is a resident of Canterbury and loves to spend time with Dan, Thomas, Micayla and Matthew.

Summer Fest
