THOMPSON --- The Wednesday Fun runs will be held at the West Thompson Dam through Sept. 16. The runs/walks start at 6:15. All welcome.

 

‘Touring’ Exhibit

WOODSTOCK --- Historic New England’s new exhibit “Touring New England, 1820 – 1970” opens today and runs through Oct. 15 at  Roseland Cottage, in the Carriage Barn. It explores why the region’s natural and built environments have been tourist destinations for centuries. The exhibit touches on the distinct characteristics of each New England state: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  Free.

THOMPSON --- The Thompson Public Library will present Art @ the Library, “Double Exposure,” photography by Karen Leaf and Norm Aubin through Aug. 30.  860-923-9779. PUTNAM --- A short prayer service, to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of Cargill Council 64, Knights of Columbus will be held at 10:15 a.m. at the grave of Cargill Council’s first Grand Knight, Edward Mullan, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

 

Quasset School Open

WOODSTOCK --- Quasset School on Frog Pond Road will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays in July and August.

TLGV Program

W. THOMPSON --- TLGV Member Program will present “The Night Sky Over The Last Green Valley” from 8 to 11 p.m. at West Thompson Dam & Rec Area. Astronomer Geoff McLean and members of the Thames Amateur Astronomical Society will share the wonders of The Last Green Valley dark night sky, in dark field to provide excellent views of deep space objects. Open House

DANIELSON --- The LiR (adult learners)  at QVCC will present a free historical program  along with refreshments and the preview of our FALL presentations at 1 p.m. at the college auditorium. The 1 hour presentation is entitled SS UNITED STATES- A ship built for peace but ready for war. It will  given by Jason Scappaticci. All welcome.
