Nemo's wrath
From top left, clockwise: A pinecone got blasted right out of the tree with the hurricane-force winds. Snow piled high at the railroad station in downtown Putnam. Pink bike up to its knees in snow at Victoria Station Cafe. Silk hydrangea wreath on recessed door got blasted. "Wishing for more snow?" Nope. Wishing well in East Putnam.

'Empty Bowl'
to benefit Daily
Bread March 2
PUTNAM — Once again, Sawmill Pottery and the Congregational Church of Putnam (Mission Outreach) are teaming up with local businesses and local restaurants on behalf of the Daily Bread Food Pantry, a key service of Interfaith Human Services of Putnam (IHSP), to host the Empty Bowl Project – an international grassroots effort to fight hunger.
The Empty Bowl Project fund-raiser will be March 2 in the dining room of the Congregational Church, downtown. There are two seatings: 4:30 to 5:30p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.
Unable to stay for dinner? Just buy the bowl — all proceeds will benefit the Daily Bread Food Pantry.
Tickets are $15 and are available at Sawmill Pottery  or at 928-4405. Many IHSP board members also have tickets.
The idea behind the Empty Bowl Project is a simple one. Community members are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread, provided by local restaurants and local cooks. In exchange for a cash donation, guests keep their hand-crafted soup bowl as a reminder of all of the empty bowls in the world. Funds raised are donated to an organization like Daily Bread, “working to end hunger and food insecurity.”
