Ice Cream Social 
THOMPSON --- The Thompson Recreation department will hold an ice cream social for senior citizens at 12:15 in N. Grosvenordale. Free. Open to residents and non-residents age 60 or older. Pre-register by calling:  860-923-9440.
 
Fun Run
W. THOMPSON --- The West Thompson Dam Fun Run has started and will run through Sept. 17 on Wednesdays starting at the West Thompson Dam entrance on Ravenelle Road. Starts at 6:15 p.m. Distance is 3.1 and 1.44 miles. Fun Run or walk is free and open to all. For info: mayer.robert @sbcglobal.net. 
 
Concert
PUTNAM --- The Putnam Music Association will present the Putnam High School band performing a free Pops Concert at 6 p.m. at Rotary Park.

Performance
WOODSTOCK --- The Three C's will present "Junie B. Jones," produced by Theatreworks USA, at 10 a.m. and  noon at the Hyde Cultural Center for students. Tickets, for groups of 10 or more, are only $3. For information call the Box Office at 860-928-2946 or at www.thethreecs.org.

Eastford Parade
EASTFORD --- The Eastford Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.  at the Eastford Elementary School. Citizens are invited to participate. There will be a Memorial Day Ceremony immediately following the parade at the Veteran's Memorial. There will be observances and military salutes at the General Lyon Cemetery at 8:30 a.m. and the Grove Cemetery at 9 a.m. 
 
Putnam Parade
PUTNAM --- The Memorial Day parade will step off from Grove Street at 10 a.m. and a Memorial Day program will follow at Rotary Park.
 
Pomfret Parade
POMFRET --- The Town of Pomfret’s  Memorial Day Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. from the site of the First Congregational Church of Pomfret church and head north down Rt. 44/169 to the intersection of routes 44/169 and Rt. 97 at the town green where a wreath will be placed and observances take place.

POMFRET CENTER --- The Pomfret Senior Center will hold the following at the center on Rt. 44: May 27: noon to 2 – TEEG Learn @ lunch “Prevention of Lyme Disease.” May 28 --- 12:30 p.m. – movie “Primal Fear”  May 29 --- 10 a.m. --- Walking for Health DKH Champs program at Mashamoquet State Park. All welcome.

ASHFORD --- The Friends of Babcock Library are holding their spring book sale from 3 to 8 p.m. May 28, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 29, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 30 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 at the library.

PUTNAM --- Putnam High School will present "Grease" at 7 p.m. May 30 and May 31 at the Putnam Middle School Auditorium. $7 for adults; $5 for seniors and students. Tickets available at PHS and Victoria Station Cafe.

The Pomfret Senior Association Meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. June 3 at the Main St. Grille Restaurant. Members wishing to car pool should meet at the Senior Center at 12:15.  This luncheon meeting is open to members only.
