The Pomfret Street Cemetery Board will be meeting on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 5:30 PM at the Pomfret Town Hall, Conference Room.  This will be the first meeting of the Board since it was established by the Town of Pomfret, Board of Selectmen.  The purpose of the Board is to oversee the care and maintenance of the Pomfret Street Cemetery off Route 44, also known as Putnam Road.  The meeting is open to the public.  All interested parties are welcome to attend.

PUTNAM — Nicole Missino, development coordinator, has been named employee of the month for August at Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH). 
Missino is responsible for coordinating all DKH development functions, which includes managing administrative office operations in support of annual campaigns, appeals and special events; documenting, acknowledging and processing all donations; assisting in the planning of, and attending, all major events; and providing data for financial reporting.  
Missino first came to DKH as a college intern, working in philanthropy and corporate communications. 
After graduation, she worked in the public relations field before returning to DKH Development in 2009 as the administrative assistant. Missino was promoted to development coordinator in 2011. 
Currently a resident of Putnam, where she was born and raised, Missino earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Rhode Island. 
She is a member of the DKH Customer Service Council and Woman’s Board of Day Kimball Hospital.

On dean's list
BELOIT, Wisc. --- Kate Taylor of Chepachet was recently named to the spring 2014 Dean’s List at Beloit College. Taylor is a senior. She graduated May 18 with a bachelor's in international relations and history.

MANCHESTER, N.H. --- Danielle N. Dumais, a English major, was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2014 semester at Saint Anselm College. Dumais, a resident of Pascoag, is a member of the class of 2017.

MECHANICSBURG, Penn. --- Putnam resident Gabrielle Robinson was one of 734 students to graduate from Messiah College on May 17 during the College’s annual commencement. Robinson graduated cum laude with a degree in accounting.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. --- Two local students graduated from Hofstra University in May. The local students who graduated include: Andrew Bertorelli of Dayville, who earned a BBA in finance and Brittany Bissonnette of Danielson, who earned a BSED in music education.

COLCHESTER, Vt. --- The following local residents were named to the spring 2014 Dean’s List at Saint Michael’s College: Michael Bodreau of Quinebaug, son of Lisa and Steven Bodreau of Quinebaug. Bodreau graduated from Marianapolis Preparatory School before coming to Saint Michael’s; Stephanie Lewis of Thompson, daughter of Kathleen and Stephen Lewis of Thompson. Lewis graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High Sch before coming to Saint Michael’s.
 
Will attend
POTSDAM, N.Y. --- Cameron Robert Saracina of Woodstock, a graduate of Woodstock Academy, will attend Clarkson University  as a member of the Class of 2018. Saracina, who will be majoring in aeronautical engineering, will begin studying at Clarkson in the fall.
