Town of Pomfret
Special Town Meeting
The legal voters and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meeting of the Town of Pomfret are hereby warned to meet at the Pomfret Community School Cafeteria, 20 Pomfret Street in the Town of Pomfret, Connecticut on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 6:30 PM to act upon the following articles:
Article 1: To choose a Moderator for said meeting.
Article 2: To see if the Town will approve the purchase of one share in the Quinebaug Regional Technology Park, located in Putnam, Connecticut.  Said share to come at a cost of $80,000 to be paid in equal annual installments for the life of the loan, together with any costs associated therewith and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to take all further action necessary to execute Agreement of the same. The proposed agreement and information pertaining to the same is available at the office of the Pomfret Town Clerk.
Article 3: To see if the Town will approve a revision to the ‘Driveway Apron Ordinance’ as approved at a Special Town Meeting on November 17, 1997 to change Section 3, item 3 to reflect ‘No Driveway Apron Construction Permit will be issued until a Thirty-five hundred dollar ($3500.00) Driveway Surety Bond or cash deposit for each driveway has been received by the Board of Selectmen naming the Town of Pomfret as the insured.’  A copy of said Ordinance is available at the office of the Pomfret Town Clerk.
Article 4: To do any other business proper to come before said meeting.

'Walktober' underway
The Last Green Valley (TLGV) is looking forward to sharing a fun-filled month and then some during its 24rd Annual Walktober.  Walktober features 155 super activities led by our members and volunteers including 107 free walks/hikes, 5 paddles and 3 bike rides (from Sept. 27 through Nov. 1) as well as 40 events (throughout October and continuing into November) that highlight the special cultural, historic or natural resources throughout the 35-town bi-state National Heritage Corridor. 
Many of the 35 towns in The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor will host at least one event.

The October 2014 billing of water and / or sewer collections for the Town of Putnam WPCA is due and payable on November 1, 2014.
Payments made after November 1, 2014 will be subject to an Interest charge of 3% (1.5% per month) or $2.00 minimum whichever is higher, according to Connecticut State Statute SEC.

       Mail must be postmarked no later than November 1, 2014 to avoid interest charges.
