At the June 22, 2015 Meeting of the Pomfret Planning & Zoning Commission, the following applications were acted upon: 
1. An application from Maureen Nicholson for the Pomfret Fire House, 67 Hampton Road, special permit for a 23’ x 88’ addition to the Fire House in a residential zone;  APPROVED with conditions.
2. An application from Brian MacKenzie and Iryna Izatova, 757 Wrights Crossing Road, Class I Home Occupation for bread bakery; APPROVED with conditions.
3)  Pomfret Community School, 20 Pomfret Street, install permanent school sign; APPROVED

The Last Green Valley, Inc. is announced three new locations where you can have your National Park Passport stamped in the National Heritage Corridor.  The newest locations are: Roseland Cottage, on Rt. 169 in Woodstock, Norwich Heritage and Visitor’s Center, on E. Town St. in Norwich, and The Last Green Valley Office, on Main Street in Danielson.
You can also have your passport stamped at all three original locations:  Lebanon Historical Society Museum, on Trumbull Highway in Lebanon; Prudence Crandall Museum on S. Canterbury Rd. in Canterbury; and Old Sturbridge Village, on Old Sturbridge Village Rd. in Sturbridge.
These rubber-stamp ink markings record the name of the park and the date of your visit, just like a real U.S. passport! The cancellations are free of charge and can be obtained at each of the six sites within the National Heritage Corridor when you visit.  A complete list of the cancellation locations can be found at:   http://www.eparks.com/store/content/863/Passport-Cancellation-Locations/.

David Zaccaria, 49, Vought Place, Stratford; operating under the influence.
June 26
Justin Kania, 20, Railroad Avenue, Plainfield; two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, third-degree criminal trespass.

WATERFORD — Cathie Forier, a supervisor of Corporate Security for Charter Oak Federal Credit Union, has been named “Investigator of the Year” by the Connecticut chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI).
Forier has worked in Charter Oak’s Fraud and Security Department for a decade and focuses on credit, debit and ATM card fraud.
