Mary Kacerik Vandi
PUTNAM — Mary (Kacerik) Vandi, 95, of Sabin St., died June 16, 2022, at Day Kimball Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Mario Vandi.  Born in 1926 in Webster, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Stefanik) Kacerik.
Mrs. Vandi worked for more than 35 years in the business department of Day Kimball Hospital. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella at St. Mary Church of the Visitation.
She leaves her son, Michael Vandi (Janene) of Thompson; siblings, Stephen Kacerik of Putnam and Barbara Ives (Richard) of Lebanon; granddaughters Allyson Vandi and Michaella Vandi, both of Thompson; and her dear friends Irene Crabtree and Gloria McCulloch; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Pauline Beausoliel, Frances Johnson, and Martha Bonneville.
The Funeral will begin with a gathering at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. June 22 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Gilman Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Church St., Putnam.

One of the final athletic events of the 2021-22 school year on the campus of The Woodstock Academy, the Spring Athletic Awards Night, took place recently.
All-State, ECC All-Stars, honorable mention ECC All-Stars, Scholar-Athlete and Sportsmanship Award winners, record-breakers and Coach’s Award winners were all honored.
In a special category, the softball team finished as the team with the highest grade point average among the spring programs.
Girls’ Track was second and girls’ tennis third.

Record Breakers
Keenan LaMontagne: The senior threw 175-feet, 8-inches in the discus at the Middletown Invitational. Eclipsed the Woodstock Academy mark of 169-11 set by Jeff Barrette at the Class MM track championship in 1998.
Ian Hoffman: Broke the 800-meter Woodstock Academy record twice during the season. He finished in 2:00.11 in the Class MM state championship to break the mark set by Woodstock Academy girls track coach Josh Welch (2:00.36). He followed that with a sub-two minute effort at the State Open track championship (1:59.9).
