Food drive for Project Northeast
scheduled for March 23
PUTNAM — There will be a food drive for northeastern Connecticut’s many needy, from 8 a.m. to noon March 23 at the Cargill K of C Hall, Providence Street.
Sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 21 and the Knights of Columbus, all proceeds will benefit the non-profit, ecumenical, non-denominational Project Northeast, to assist anyone in need throughout all of northeastern Connecticut.
Please bring your non-perishable food items and monetary donations, to help your neighbors in need.

PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. --- Marine Corps Pvt. Joshua S. Riendeau, son of Joleen D. Horner of Dayville earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C.
Riendeau is a 2009 graduate of Killingly High School of Danielson, Conn.
For 13 weeks, Riendeau stayed committed during some of the world's most demanding entry-level military training in order to be transformed from civilian to Marine instilled with pride, discipline and the core values.
