Bead Challenge
PUTNAM --- The Flying Carpet Studio is hosting a Valentine Bead Challenge and Auction to benefit the Northeast Cultural Alliance. 12 local Artists signed on to create a piece of art to donate to the auction. Voting begins Feb. 1. A reception for artists and patrons is at 4 p.m. Feb. 10.

Quilt Display
POMFRET --- The Connecticut Audubon Society at Pomfret will present the Pomfret 300th Anniversary Quilt Display through Feb. 28 at the new Audubon Grassland Bird Conservation Center on Day Road. Opening Reception is from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3. Info at www.ctaudubon.org. 928-4948.

DAYVILLE --- An art exhibit featuring artist members of the Northeastern CT Art Guild will be held through Feb. 28 at the Sunshine Shop on Upper Maple Street. An open reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 2. All welcome.

Benefit Dinner
PUTNAM --- The Putnam High School Parents Music Association will be hosting an Italian Dinner Cabaret from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the PHS Cafeteria. Take out or eat in. $8 for adults; $6 for senior citizens and kids. Entertainment by students of PHS Music Department.  

History Program

PUTNAM --- Yet another annual event is taking shape in downtown Putnam, as the 2nd annual FIRE & ICE Event has been scheduled Valentine's Day weekend. We would like to showcase Putnam as a beautiful romantic downtown by lining the sidewalks with ice sculptures, lanterns, luminarias, and white lights.
