STORRS — The UConn Extension System is now accepting applications for the Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program for 2014.  The objective of the program is to provide horticultural training to individuals who want to share knowledge with the public through community volunteerism, and wish to expand their gardening interests.
Classes will be held in Torrington, Vernon, Norwich, New Haven and Stamford. For more information or an application, call your local County Extension Center or visit the Home and Garden Education Center website:  http://www.ladybug.uconn.edu/
The program is broad-based, intensive and consists of 14 class sessions (one full day per week) beginning Jan. 3, 2014.  The Master Gardener program includes over 100 hours of classroom training and 60 hours of volunteer service.  Individuals successfully completing the program will receive UConn Cooperative Extension Master Gardener certification. The charge for the program is $415. Partial scholarships may be available, based on demonstrated financial need.

N. GROSVENORDALE --- The Class of 1963 of St. Joseph High School will be hosting a School Reunion Oct. 20 and is looking for schoolmates.
The reunion will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Rt. 12.
The reunion will recognize the 50th graduation anniversary and bring together as many former students and graduates of the school for an afternoon of sharing memories and stories of its history. Guests and partners welcome, of course.
If you choose you can also attend the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Church in North Grosvenordale.
 The doors open at noon at the Knights hall and a buffet luncheon is served at 1 p.m. Cash bar.
