Fire Marshal
The Town of Putnam is seeking a Fire Marshal certified by the Connecticut Fire Marshals Association. This position will report to the Town Administrator and will coordinate with the Mayor and various Town Committees including the Board of Selectmen. Performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory, technical, and professional work related to fire inspection, fire prevention, and the investigation of fires for origin and cause. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and implementing fire prevention and enforcement of the Connecticut Fire Safety Code to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire.
This part-time position is a stipend position, based on an expected 100 hours per month including on-call hours of nights, weekends, and holiday. The expected compensation range is approximately $35,000 per year, with possible negotiation depending on experience. There is no health, dental, pension or other benefits with this position.

The Town of Putnam is seeking an Economic and Development Director. This position will report to the Town Administrator and will coordinate with the Mayor and various Town Committees including acting as the Town Agent for the Economic & Community Development Commission and the Putnam Redevelopment Agency. Performs a variety of technical, administrative, supervisory, and professional work in direct oversight and control of economic development and community development activities. Responsible for planning for development in the areas of businesses, land use, economic growth, housing, transportation, and related areas.
This full-time position is a salaried position, based on a typical 35-hour work week schedule. The expected salary range is between $50,000 - $70,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience. There is health, dental, pension and other benefits with this position. Vacation, personal leave, and sick leave accruals are applicable.
