Dedication pg 3 10-28-21

The Town of Putnam along with the Putnam Recreation Department will host the dedication of the New Owen Tarr Field at 11 a.m. Oct. 30.
The field is adjacent to St. Marie-Greenhalgh Sports Complex on Wicker Street.
The creation of the new field began in 2020 as a replacement of field activities at the former Owen Tarr Park. That land is now the new Putnam Municipal Complex.
The dedication will include the unveiling of the Tarr Field sign and will feature a speaking program that will include words from Owen Tarr, whom the field is dedicated in his honor.  Tarr has served many years as a selectman and was on the Recreation Commission for more than 35 years.
The dedication will officially designate the field as “Owen Tarr Field.” The designation was approved by the Recreation Commission, Board of Selectmen and at Town Meeting.
