Fund-raiser Exhibit
POMFRET --- Celebrations Shoppes will present an art exhibit and fund-raiser to support the building of the new Regional Community YMCA through Oct. 25. Twenty percent of art sales from this special exhibition will be donated to the new RYMCA. 
 
Anniversary Luncheon

Art Exhibit

WOODSTOCK --- Roseland Cottage hosts the 32nd annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. $5. Historic New England members and children under 12 admitted free. Free parking.
 
Rabies Clinic
DANIELSON --- Pet Pals Northeast is holding a low cost rabies clinic at the Quinebaug Valley Veterinary Hospital on Rt. 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. No appointment.  $12 cash per animal. Trivia Night
N. GROSVENORDALE --- The Regional Rotaract Club will host its 2nd Annual Rotaract Trivia Night at the K of C Hall. Teams of eight will compete for a $500 cash grand prize. The event will also include a spaghetti dinner and more. Benefits Rotaract Scholarship Fund. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and the trivia competition to begin at 7 p.m. Fee is $200 per team. 860-457-4647.
 
Plein Air
WOODSTOCK --- The Plein Air painters will be at the Historical Lawn near the Palmer Arboretum as part of the 100 year celebration of the arboretum. Oct. 19 is the rain date.
 
Popcorn Fund-raiser
PUTNAM --- Putnam Boy Scout Troop 25 will be selling popcorn from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 19 at Walmart in Putnam. Benefits cost of uniforms, handbooks, summer camp and other activities for the scouts.
 
Roast Beef Dinner
N. GROSVENORDALE --- The Emanuel Lutheran Church on Main Street will hold a Roast Beef Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., family style. $12 for adults; $6 for kids. Tickets available at door. Takeout available.
 
Steak Dinner

Celebration
DANIELSON --- Quinebaug Valley Community College celebrates Hispanic-American Heritage Month at 2 p.m at the Danielson campus. The event is free and open to the public. The celebration will honor the Julia de Burgos Centennial with poetry readings from her work in both English and Spanish. Windham Middle School folkloric dancers Puentes al Futuro (Bridges to the Future) will be performing during the celebration. An open mic session will be available for those who would like to read their own material. Students and community members are encouraged to attend and participate.

Beirut Remembrance
PUTNAM --- Members of the American Legion Post 13 will host its second annual 31st Anniversary Remembrance: A Candlelight Vigil to honor the memory, service and sacrifice of the service members who lost their lives in the Beirut barracks bombing starting at 6 p.m. at Rotary Park. Rain or shine. All welcome.

Spaghetti Supper
WOODSTOCK --- Woodstock Academy’s student-run nonprofit organization, Family Related Effective Solutions for Humanity (FRESH), will be hosting its 5th annual Spaghetti Supper fund-raiser at 6 p.m. at the school.  Dinner, auctions and much more.  $10 per person; $5 for senior citizens and kids 10 and younger. 928-6575. Benefits  camperships and scholarships for students who cannot afford camps.  All Tri-M profits will be used to go to music scholarships for Academy students and to the betterment of the music department.
