State Representative Danny Rovero (D-Killingly, Putnam, Thompson) officially received his committee assignments for the 2015 General Assembly session from Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden).
“I’m very happy with the committee assignments I’ve been given by the Speaker,” said  Rovero. “I look forward to continuing to add my voice and experience to the process of creating policy in Connecticut.”
He was re-named vice chair of the Aging Committee and will also serve as an assistant majority leader. Rovero will also serve on the General Law and Public Safety Committees.
The Aging Committee is one of the joint standing committees of the Connecticut General Assembly and has cognizance of all matters relating to senior citizens. The General Law Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Consumer Protection, fair trade and sales practices, consumer protection, mobile homes
and occupational licensing, except licensing by the Department of Public Health; and all matters relating to alcoholic beverages. The Public Safety and Security Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to homeland security, the Department of Public Safety, including state police, state organized task force on crime, municipal police training, fire marshals, the fire safety code and the state building code, civil preparedness and legalized gambling, and military and veterans’ affairs, except veterans’ pensions.
Rovero begins his 3rd term serving the 51st House District which encompasses Killingly, Putnam and Thompson.
