Production
WILLIMANTIC --- "Thread City," the first Main Stage theatre production of the fall semester at ECSU, will show at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11, 13 and 14 and at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12; at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 and 4 p.m. Oct. 15. The dialogue-free performance will convey - through actors' movements - the stories of immigrants who came to Willimantic to work in its historic thread mills. Old Home Day
CANTERBURY --- The Canterbury Old Home Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Canterbury Green. Rain or shine. Parking on the town green around the First Congregational Church will be limited to visitors with handicapped permits. General parking will be at the Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School on Rt. 14 with a free shuttle provided by the town of Canterbury running all day.
 
BBQ
CANTERBURY --- The Canterbury Lions Club chicken BBQ will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the community Center. $12 for half chicken, $10 for quarter chicken. Food items for the Canterbury Food Bank, eyeglasses and hearing aids will be collected.  860-546-6331.
 
Roast Pork
DANIELSON --- The Killingly-Brooklyn Interfaith Council is hosting a Roast Pork Dinner Fund Raiser for the local Fuel Bank from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. $12; kids 6 and younger eat for free.  Parking: Broad Street and at St. Alban's Episcopal Church and at the Temple Beth Israel Preservation Society on Killingly Drive.   
 
Arts & Crafts
WOODSTOCK --- Roseland Cottage holds its 35th annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and Oct. 15. Admission for adults is $5. Historic New England members and children under 12 admitted free. Parking is free. Rain or shine. 860-928-4074.
 
Preserve Walk
WOODSTOCK --- The Wyndham Land Trust will present a Walktober Rapoport/Spalding Preserve Walk at 10 a.m. Park at end of  end of Calkins Road, by #129. Relatively easy and scenic 2-mile walk. Bad weather will cancel. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Palmer Legacy
WOODSTOCK --- The Legacy of Minnie Palmer Dean program will be held at 1 p.m. as part of TLGV’s Walktober events at the Palmer Hall/Arboretum on Rt. 169. Minnie Palmer Dean gave Woodstock Palmer Memorial Hall (former town hall) and Palmer Arboretum and also gifts to many other towns in New England. Learn about Minnie and her husband Charles Dean on a tour of the building and the park. Free.

DANIELSON --- Pet Pals Northeast, a local animal welfare organization, is holding a low cost rabies clinic from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Quinebaug Valley Veterinary Hospital on Rt. 12.
