Low pg 11 1-4-18

The Woodstock Academy wrestling team, due to sickness and injury and the Christmas break, had only seven wrestlers available last week.
That led to some tough times at the Killingly High School New Year duals Dec. 30.
Peter Spada recorded pins in a 24-18 loss to Stafford and in a 36-18 defeat at the hands of E. Windsor.
Kellen Horst had a pin for the Centaurs (0-7) in a 66-10 loss to Ellis Tech and Woodstock also fell to Coventry, 33-24.
The story was similar Dec. 27.
Seven forfeits didn’t help the cause as the Centaurs lost to the Lyman-Windham Tech cooperative, 55-16, at South Campus Dec. 27.
Ben Holden had pulled the Centaurs within nine points, 25-16, when he scored a major decision victory over Ryan Powess at 160 pounds.
Unfortunately for the Centaurs, it was the end of the points.
The Academy (0-7) forfeited the next three of the last five matches and both Mason LaFlam and Joe Reihl scored wins by pin to give the Bulldogs their third consecutive dual match victory.
Kellen Horst recorded one of the two pins in the match for the Centaurs.
The 106-pound freshman took down Eamonn McMahon 17 seconds into the second period.
After a double forfeit and a win by decision for Lyman-Windham Tech, Elliot Hellwig put the Centaurs up with a pin at 126.
But the joy was short-lived as the Centaurs had to forfeit the next three matches.
