WILLIMANTIC — Two local students volunteered in the Eastern Connecticut State University’s participation with local preschool children through Jumpstart, an AmeriCorps program that supports the language and social skills of children from low-income areas: Nathan Fontaine ’22 of Woodstock, who majors in Pre-Early Childhood Education and History; and Sarah Langlois ’20 of Quinebaug, who majors in Pre-Early Childhood Education and Psychology.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Three local students were named to the Western New England University fall 2018 dean’s list: Nicole Bryant of Chepachet, majoring in computer science; Calvin Wentworth of Eastford, majoring in criminal justice; Joseph Bogoslofski of Thompson, majoring in business analytics and information management.

BOSTON — Stephanie C. Roy, a resident of Pomfret Center, has recently been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the fall semester.

WORCESTER — Two local students were named to the Worcester Academy Honor Roll and Headmaster’s List for Semester 1 of the 2018-2019 school year: Avery Riva of Woodstock, Grade 11, First Honors; Megan Buxton of Pascoag, Grade 11, Headmaster’s List.

WILLIMANTIC — A local student took part in Eastern Connecticut State University’s rendition of “Pluto” at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF).  Rachel Pontbriand ’19 of Woodstock Valley who majors in English. Pontbriand was an actor in “Pluto.” “Pluto” was one of only three productions featured at the Region 1 festival.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Seton Hall University announced that Alex Belinski of Quinebaug qualified for the fall 2018 dean’s list.
