Griffins team
POMFRET — The Pomfret School field hockey team went 0-2 on the week to bring its record to 5-6 midway through the season.
The Griffins lost to a skilled and quick-moving squad from Cushing Academy (Ashburnham, Mass.) though Cate Gallagher ’22 scored a late goal off a rebound to get Pomfret on the board.
Oct. 12 the team headed west to Kent School for a well-played game against a solid opponent. The team exhibited its best passing game of the year; the Griffins executed well but were unable to get quality shots off while in the circle. The game was back and forth but a few mistakes cost Pomfret two goals.
