PUTNAM — Putnam Bank has signed on as the $25,000 presenting sponsor of the Day Kimball Hospital Golf Classic for the third year in a row. Funds from last year’s sponsorship are providing critical support for technology upgrades at Day Kimball Hospital, as well as financial assistance to northeastern Connecticut residents in need of cancer care or home care.
Last year’s sponsorship allowed for the purchase of a new monitor and defibrillator for the Hospital’s intensive care unit. This complete acute cardiac care response system is the most advanced monitor and defibrillator designed for basic and advanced life support for patients. This device is the new standard in emergency care, as the most clinically innovative, operationally effective system available today.
Putnam Bank President and CEO Thomas Borner was able to see the new machine in action as Dr. John Modica, cardiologist at Day Kimball Hospital, explained the technology behind the new device during a recent tour of the intensive care unit. “It’s incredible to see how advanced this equipment is and we are fortunate to have this in our community with very capable staff with the skill to utilize,” said Putnam Bank President and CEO Thomas Borner.
Putnam Bank’s sponsorship of the 2018 Day Kimball Healthcare Golf Classic also provided financial assistance to those receiving cancer care at Day Kimball Hospital’s Rose Bove LaRose Cancer Center, through the Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of Day Kimball Healthcare, as well as financial assistance for local residents in need of in-home medical or personal care provided by Day Kimball Healthcare at Home.
This year’s sponsorship will again benefit both of those funds as well as additional upgrades to Day Kimball Hospital facilities and technology.
