The Windham County 4-H Foundation recently received a grant of $6,000 for their cabin renewal project from the Savings Institute Financial Group, Inc.  This amount will pay for half the cost of renewing one of 15 cabins built in the 1950s with new siding, steps, shutters, screens and vents.
With more than 40 buildings on site to maintain, the Foundation’s all-volunteer board works hard to seek outside funding to help with expenses to keep weekly camp fees as low as possible.
More than 1,550 camper slots were filled last year, close to maximum capacity.  Four of the 15 cabins have been completed already since the fund-raising campaign began in 2018.
