Road Race
POMFRET ---The second annual Camper Scamper 5K Road Race/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run will be held at 10 a.m. at Windham County 4-H Outdoor Center on Taft Pond Road. History Program
KILLINGLY --- Temple Beth Israel Preservation Society and Killingly Historical and Genealogical Society will present a program at 1 p.m. at the Temple Beth Israel on Killingly Drive. The program by Martin Silver is about the SS Mala.  The Mala was a presidential yacht that held 36 passengers and was refitted to hold 1400 Holocaust survivors bound for the emerging state of Israel. Speaking will be Ken Whitten, a vegetable farmer who runs a small "pick your own" Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) garden in Woodstock. All welcome. Free, although nonperishable food donations to Daily Bread will be gratefully accepted.
