Kids Giving to Kids
Recently the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Pomfret received a $3000 donation from the Woodstock Academy student run, non-profit, F.R.E.S.H.  The primary mission of FRESH is to mentor local middle school students as they prepare to transition into high school.  In addition to their mentoring work, the students do a tremendous job fund-raising to provide summer campership donations. “ This is the third year the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Pomfret has received a campership donation and we are thrilled,” said Director, Sarah Heminway.  “We run eight weeks of summer nature day camp and summer camp is something every child should experience.  This Woodstock Academy student organization has worked hard to make that happen and their thank you will come back in the form of filthy sneakers and big smiles.” Left to right: FRESH executive board members, Galina Gruder, Sarah Heminway (Connecticut Audubon), Abby Willis & Austin Beaupres.
