The announcement by Marianapolis Prep School of the retirement of Eric Gustavson, the 33 year soccer coach, was followed by the immediate naming of his replacement.
Gustavson’s son, Abraham Gustavson was named to fill the big soccer cleats left by his dad hanging in the locker room.  The new coach is very familiar with Marianapolis, having graduated from the Thompson Hill school in 2007.  He’s been a member of the MPS faculty since 2011 following his graduation from college.
As a student at Marianapolis, Abraham Gustavson played on the Golden Knights soccer team under his dad for one season.  Since joining the faculty he’s coached the boys’ junior varsity soccer team, girls’ junior varsity basketball team, the junior varsity ultimate Frisbee squad and boys’ varsity lacrosse.
