Two races
EASTFORD — Nov. 14 two road races will benefit local people with serious illnesses, both departing from the Eastford Town Office Building on Westford Road,.
The 5K “We Never Stop Fighting” Race against Cancer (in memory of Eastford School Nurse Marilyn Krom who died of uterine cancer) departs at 11 a.m. and will benefit breast cancer patient Martha MacWilliams. At noon, a 1-1/4 mile “Ribbon Run & Fun Run” will benefit Eastford 8th grade student Judy Thavone who has lupus. Winners receive medals. Fee is $30 for both races. Register the day of the race or @helpseanfightcancer.com.

Sponsors are: Eastford Recreation Commission and The Help Sean Fight Cancer Foundation, which has held more than 20 such races or walks to benefit those who are ill, including races in each of the past three years in Eastford.
