Socks Sought
Woodstock Academy senior, Avery Benton collects socks from The Care Program staff at The Rectory School in Pomfret for her “SOCK IT TO ME” fund-raiser. Benton said, “I once forgot my socks when I went sledding and it makes you notice just how cold winter is and how a simple pair of socks can make a big difference.” The Rectory School was one of the collection sites set up for the fund-raiser that she started to benefit N.E. Connecticut shelters and families in need. She’s collected more than 250 pairs of socks that will be distributed Dec. 1, her goal is 1,000.  If you would like to donate new, warm socks for children and adults, a donation box is located at The Vanilla Bean Café until Nov. 30.
