Hale YMCA
collects 300+
donations
PUTNAM — During November and December the Hale YMCA Youth and Family Center partnered with TEEG and the Putnam Family Resource Center for a “Giving Tree” donation drive. More than 300 items and gift cards were donated.
The members, board and staff of the YMCA selected “ornaments” from the Christmas tree in the Hale lobby, each of which listed a need or gift request from a child, parent or senior in the local community.  Hundreds of toys, games, books, gift cards, necessities and more were purchased and delivered to the YMCA, filling the conference room. In addition, Y members donated hundreds of canned goods during the month of November, which were also donated to the food pantry at TEEG.
“Social responsibility is one of the cornerstone principals of the YMCA,” said  Executive Director Amanda Kelly. “We were thrilled and moved to see our members, staff and board rally around this important cause. The Giving Tree brought everyone together to help strengthen our community and we are proud to have played a part in this inspirational donation drive.”
