March 5 the Putnam Science Academy Mustangs faced off against Notre Dame Prep in the Power5 Championship game and the academy took the win, 80-63. The two battled the whole first half, PSA going into the half 48-40. In the second half, PSA picked up the intensity on defense and controlled the glass, outscoring Notre Dame 32-23 and went on to win by 17 points. Putnam was led by Jaheam Cornwall with 15 points, Lapri Pace scored 13 points and controlled six rebounds, while Malik Curry also scored 13 points and had four steals, and both Alexis Yetna, 12 points, 11 rebounds, and Issac Kante 10 points, 10 rebounds, had double-doubles and PSA wins the first ever Power5 Championship. National Prep School Invitational Tournament is the next event for the Mustangs, March 8, & 9, 2017 at Albertus Magnus where they take on the winner of Cushing Academy and Fork Union.

(1) Brooks School 68
Marianapolis squared off against the top-seeded Brooks School In the final game of the NEPSAC Class B Tournament Championship at Clark University.  It was a Cinderella story, as the Marianapolis Golden Knights were the #6 seed, facing off against the undefeated first-seeded Brooks. The Brooks school have won the last two Class B championships, and adds another one as they take down the Cinderella Golden Knights who made a great run at the championship.  Tyler Burton finished the game with seven points and four rebounds, Owen Soontjens ended with six points, and Joe Del Ricci had five points and three rebounds.

Redemption Christian 73
In the first round over the Power5 playoffs, PSA took on Redemption Prep and were victorious by a score of 106-73. Mustangs were led by Issac Kante who finished the game with 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Kent Jones also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaheam Cornwall added 12 points and Lapri Pace had 11 points. Malik Ondigo had nine points, while Malik Curry and Eric Ayala each had nine points and seven assists and the Mustangs will face Notre Dame in finals.

Redemption Christian 73
PSA Varsity wins the NE Prep Invitational by a score of 102-73 over Redemption Christian Academy. Manny Warren led the Mustangs to victory as he records 27 points, nine rebounds, and five assists as he was awarded Most Valuable Player. Adham Floyd also scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Kasey Walker scored 12 points and were both named to the All-Tournament Team of the Northeast Prep Invitational.

Marley Blommers put his team on his back and lifted the sixth-seed Marianapolis over the second-seed Kingswood-oxford with a team-high 21 points to move the Golden Knights to the NEPSAC Class B Championship. Tyler Burton added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Marianapolis will play top ranked Brooks School at Clark University.

The Golden Knights came out on top game against third- seed Canterbury in the Class B quarterfinals, as they were paced by Tyler Burton who finished the game with 19 points and eight rebounds. Steph Baxter and Joe Del Ricci also both scored 19 points apiece for MPS.  Marley Blommers chipped in 11 points, five dimes, three boards, and five takeaways, and Marianapolis will play second-seed Kingswood-Oxford in semifinals.

Our Savior Lutheran 79 
The Mustangs traveled to the Bronx, N.Y.,  to take on Our Savior Lutheran in their season finale and PSA came into the game with a lot of energy, took the lead early, and coasted to the final buzzer to a 114-79 victory.  The Mustangs were led by Issac Kante, who had 12 points, and 13 rebounds, and Alexis Yetna, who also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. PSA also got great efforts from Lapri Pace who scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and junior Malik Curry who also finished with 16 points and dished out five assists. Putnam Science ends regular season as the top seed in Power5 conference and will take on Redemption.

Kasey Walker leads the Mustang Varsity squad to a five-point victory in the Bronx with 22 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. Adham Floyd added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Nate Patenaude added 11 points, and Manny Warren had nine points.
