THOMPSON — Senior Marley Blommers, of Ontario, Canada, signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Dalhousie University June 2.
This past season, the shooting guard/small forward averaged 12.8 points per game, 8.9 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game, and 2.2 steals per game.
Blommers has been playing basketball since he was 4 years old. He decided to sign with Dalhousie because of the academic and athletic opportunities it provides. In addition, he said “I really enjoyed Coach Plato’s coaching style and look forward to playing for him and playing with a great group of guys. I hope to win an AUS Championship with them and eventually a National Championship. I hope to make an impact on the team right away.” Blommers plans to major in business commerce.
Dalhousie University is in Nova Scotia, Canada and is in the AUS (Atlantic University Sport) conference within the USPORTS league. The men’s basketball team has won three straight AUS championships and finished third overall in the National Championship Tournament last year.
