Lincoln Academy (Ga.) 96
In a back and forth game the Putnam Science Academy Mustangs prevailed 105-96 over Lincoln Academy.
Lincoln Academy was riding a three-game winning streak with wins over St. Thomas More and 2 wins at the Zero Gravity Prep Classic.
The Mustangs were able to build a 10 point halftime lead as sophomores Demarr Langford Jr. (14 points) and Hassan Diarra (20 points) provided a spark on the offensive end.
In the second half Lincoln Academy made a run of their own and was able to tie the game and even take a brief lead, but the Mustangs responded as point guard Kyle Lofton was key as he recorded 25 points and 9 assists.
Kareem Reid has another big game as well as he recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds. He also picked up his second offer in as many days as the University of Rhode Island extended him a scholarship offer.

Navy Prep 101
NEWPORT, R.I. — The Mustangs suffered a setback Dec. 6 as they lost to Navy Prep in Newport by a score of 101-93. In the loss Jose Perez led the Mustangs with 31 points. The loss drops their record to 9-2.

Massanutten 61
BALTIMORE — The Putnam Science Academy Mustangs traveled to Baltimore to play in the Shirts and Skins Classic and Dec. 8 they faced off against the #1 team in the country Massanutten Military Academy. The Mustangs were propelled by a great second half performance to secure the win 79-61.
After a tight first half the Mustangs led by two. Point guard Kyle Lofton paced the Mustang offense as he had 10 points at the break.
In the second half the Mustangs were able to use their depth and athleticism to extend the lead. Massanutten tried to make a run as they cut the Mustang lead down to four, but the Mustangs would never relinquish the lead.
Jose Perez had a game-high 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Lofton ended up with 16 points and 6 assists. Also strong for the Mustangs was sophomore guard Hassan Diarra as he added 10 points.

Mount Zion Prep 66
BALTIMORE — The Mustangs were back in action at the Shirts and Skins Dec. 9 as they faced off against #5 Mount Zion Prep. The Mustangs came away victorious 81-66 behind a total team effort.
After a slow start that saw the Mustangs go offense stagnant, they trailed 31-27 at halftime.
In the second half it was an entirely different Mustang squad as they came out right away to take control of the game. Jose Perez once again was right in the middle of the run as he recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds. Akok Akok was right behind him as he scored 16 points and had 5 rebounds.
The Mustangs two victories over the weekend improved their overall record to 11-2.
