DANIELSON — The winners were named for the second Northeastern Connecticut Art Guild Juried Art Show at the Spirol Gallery, QVCC. Of 59 entries, 46 art pieces were exhibited and judged resulting in more than $1,400 in cash prizes.
The winners are:
First Prize: Fresh Tomatoes by Edythe Roxburgh
Second Prize: Sunrise Service by Normand Chartier
Third Prize: Provincetown Peacefulness by Dorothy Ford-King
Judges Choice: Hampton Croft by Brian Tracy
QVCC President’s Award: Lily by Jane Larson
Barbara Gleason Memorial Award: Creation by Julie Caprera
American Diner Award: Sound of the Wild by Scott Rhodes
Grill 37 Award: My Friend by Karen St Jean
Vanilla Bean Cafe Award: Red Barn at Midday by Jane Waller Collins
Courthouse Bar and Grille Award: Kissing Zebras by Lori Smolen
The exhibit runs through Aug. 9 and is open during college hours.
The public is welcome from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 3 for the Viewers Choice Award presentation and closing reception.  This reception is free and open to the public.
The Northeastern Connecticut Art Guild or NECTAG is a nonprofit organization established in 1985 whose mission is to promote art amongst its members and in the community at large.
