Between Feb. 11 and 22, the Eastern Connecticut Conference, in conjunction with Geno’s Cancer Team (founded by UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma) and the V Foundation for Cancer Research, will be participating in the High School Initiative program through its annual ECC Cancer Awareness Night.
All ECC basketball coaches will wear sneakers to coach; a minimum of $1 from each ticket sold at all games will be donated to Geno’s Cancer Team to support the V Foundation for Cancer Research; pink and light blue colors will be worn by the athletes; additional fund-raisers held by individual schools and teams.
