Bruins Rally Late
Tied after two periods the Bruins turned it on in the third period to take a 7-4 victory over the Lightning. Led by Nathan Deluca with two goals and two assists and Tucker Sheehan with two goals and one assist the Bruins moved solidly into second place with their fifth win of the season. The Bruins were also helped by a great defense and Mike Scott, Emily DeLuca, and Nick Allesandro each with a goal and Zoe Wilcox and Gillian Horst with an assist each. Goalie Tom Castle was up to the task with 11 saves. The Lightning fall to 3-5-2 and were led by Jordan Lamothe two goals and one assist. Also scoring for the blue and white were Kyle Prouty, Doug Gerrity and Zach Smith. Lightning goalie Dylan Menditto injured during the game still managed 21 saves.
Red Wings Earn Tie
The Red Wings fought hard to hold off a late rally by the league-leading Avalanche to salvage a tie. The Red Wings were lead by Nathan DeLuca (4g 0a), Evan Cunningham with (0g 4a), Dariam Shunaman (0g 3a), Melisa Brown (1g 0a) Anthony Girard (0g 1a) and Gillian Horst (0g 1a). Red Wings goalie Bethany Oliver was solid with 22 saves. The Avalanche were led by future NHL Hall of Famer Jake Black with yet another Hat Trick performance. Zach Gaganon scored the tying goal with 51 seconds left in the game.
Connor Bavosi was credit with the fourth Avalanche goal. Assists were credited to Bobby Boisvert with two, Joe Wilcox, Ryan Gravier, Gillian Black and Jordan Moffit each with one. Lex Bosio had a great game with 12 saves in the 5-5 tie. The Avalanche have locked up first place heading into the final week of play while the Red Wings now share third place.
