POMFRET --- March 12  Pomfret crew coach Allison Kaufman took three girls from the crew team to compete in the C.R.A.S.H.-B.’s World Indoor Rowing Championship.
Kirsten Therrien ‘10 raced in the coxswain event and finishing 19th out of 31 with a time of 9:09.8.
Sophie Rathjen ’11 raced in the Junior Women’s event and finished 63rd in a field of 219; quite an impressive performance. Rathjen had the crowd gunning for her and finished first in her row of ergs with a personal best 2k time of 7:47.1.
Jaclyn Tules ’11 raced in the Junior Women’s Lightweight event and finished 15th out of 80 rowers with a time of 7:54.1.
All three girls competed with tenacity and look forward to competing again next year, said Kaufman.
The event took place at the Agganis Arena at Boston University and included hundreds of competitors of all ages competing from all over the world.
