Bridge closed
W. THOMPSON --- The Blain hiking trail bridge at West Thompson Lake is closed to the public. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers bridge inspectors found it was not stable and deemed it unsafe for pedestrian use. There is no other way to cross the river and alternate routes must be taken.
President's list
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Aubrey C. Babcock of Danielson was named to the president's list at Western New England College for the fall 2009 semester. Babcock is a senior majoring in mathematics.
