Putnam Science Academy 7-foot,1-inch graduate Rundell Mauge is finishing his second season of basketball at North Platte Community College in Nebraska.  He helped guide the team to their first regional championship in school history, beating archrival Sheridan College 69-65.
North Platte (28-4) started the game off strong and held on for the win behind a strong game Rundell. He finished with 15 points, five blocks, and a game-high 13 rebounds. Mauge hit two crucial free throws with 4.3 second left to secure the win.
North Platte Community College will play the College of Eastern Utah in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Associate Championship Tournament.
Mauge is a 2008 graduate of PSA where he dominated northeastern Connecticut basketball, earning Coastal Prep League MVP and nominated as a McDonald’s All-American. For North Platte this year, Mauge is averaging 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 block shots a game.  He is being recruited by several Division 1 schools, including Texas State, Delaware State and Pacific.
