Collecting for Troops
The Veterans for Troops and Moms for Troops have been gathering useful personal items, sports items, and more to send to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have sent about 2,400 pounds so far. Drop-offs are taken at the Yamaha Kawasaki store on Rt. 44 in Putnam. These donations were boxed up and sent. Anyone in the area who has a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan may pick out items and the group will handle the postage. One box was recently sent to Griswold Marine Lance Corporal Tyler Owen Griffin who was killed last week in Afghanistan. Pictured are Barney Seney, Tod and Ruth Stevenson, Don and Pat Steinbrick.
