WOODSTOCK --- Woodstock Academy Centaurs head baseball coach David Austin was named to be the head coach for next year's District IV game, post season.
This year, he was the assistant coach. Austin said he was honored by the designation. He was also pleased that player ross Lincoln was named CIAC Class L all State
"Quite an honor for the senior outfielder who hit .450 on the season and will attend Franklin Pierce in the fall. It's the first time in a long time that a Centaur has received this honor," Austin said.
The Centaurs finished the regular season at 9-11. Austin said they lost in the first round of the States to Fitch 2-0.
He added the team had two All ECC First Team All Stars in Lincoln and Paul Lindstrom. Zak Kozey was named to the honorable mention category and Brady Matteau received the Sportsmanship Award winner.
Austin said "We had two CHSCA senior all star game participants in Lincoln and Lindstrom." That game was played June 15 at Plainville High School. "Both players were excellent and handled themselves and Woodstock Academy with class," he added.
