The Pomfret Eastford 11/12 All Stars hosted the defending district champions from Norwich at the Laborers International  Little League Complex June 26 in the first game of the All Star Tournament and won 7-1. 
The Pell team was first on the board in the bottom of the first inning as Jack Archambault singled up the middle, Doug Gerrity was hit by a pitch and Conor Hanlon drove them both in with a double. Hanlon scored on a Norwich error and the home team took a 3-0 lead.  Norwich spotted a run on the 2nd with 3 hits making the score 3-1.  In the bottom of the 3rd PELL struck again as Jack Archambault started the rally with another single up the middle. Conor Hanlon followed with his 7th home run of the year giving  Pomfret Eastford a comfortable 5-1 lead. 
In the bottom of the 4th the home team added to the lead as Zach Gagnon singled and Max Mullin laid down a text book bunt. Archambault smacked  his 3rd hit of the game followed by a Doug Gerrity single and the lead grew to 7-1. In the 5th Norwich threatened with the bases loaded and one out when a bunt down the 3rd base line was barehanded by Hanlon tossing an off-balance throw to an outstretched Nate DeLuca for the force out at home. The rally ended with a bases-loaded strike out.  Conor Hanlon pitched a complete game striking out 8.
The Pomfret-Eastford team played  Putnam June 29 and then Woodstock visits PELL July 1.
The Pomfret Eastford All Stars are Jack Archambault, Dan Whittenburg, Max Mullin, Nick Kowalchuck,  Conor Hanlon, Zach Gagnon, Cal Wilcox, Alec Aleczcek,  Kyle Lingard, Nate DeLuca,  Doug Gerrity, Ryan Black and Connor Bavosi.
