road race
PUTNAM — At the 21st annual Day Kimball Hospital Deary Memorial Race Walk, Lloyd Matthew of Webster came out on top, with former winner Eric Bonnette nipping at his heels - a few seconds behind. Matthews, 22, clocked his win at 27:11.0 while Bonnette, 31, came in at 27:21.0.
Taking the top spot for the women was Laura Pagnozzi of Scituate, R.I. with a time of 32:52.0.
There were 300 walkers and 300 runners.
Last year’s race winner was Patrick Moulton for the men and Stephanie Reill for the women.
