PUTNAM --- The Town of Putnam has awarded the bid the replace sidewalks and resurface Church Street from Providence Street (Rt. 171) to the Thompson town line. All the existing sidewalks and curb will be replaced. The road surface will also be milled and repaved. The project is being funded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
Cherry Hill Construction Company will be the contractor. They will begin work the week of Oct. 4, and will complete the project by Nov. 24 if the weather cooperates. It is important that NO VEHICLES be parked on Church Street during the project. There will be a minimal inconvenience to traffic on the street. Emergency and local traffic will be allowed during construction.
