PUTNAM --- The Putnam Lions Club's second annual Dog Walk in support of NEADS Canines for Combat Veterans raised about $1,600. Stu Neal of the Lions Club said more donations may trickle in. "We are pleased by the number of returning walkers and also the addition of a few new walkers this year. We would also like to thank the groups and individuals that provided financial support, activities and information to make the day successful.
He added, "The Putnam Lions hope to continue this event in the future to not only raise funds for NEADS but also to increase awareness for the program and the needs of our wounded veterans."
