THOMPSON --- Former U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, the Honorable Donald Gregg, spoke at Marianapolis Preparatory School Sept. 21. Gregg spoke about “Speaking Truth to Power,” specifically his work for peace in the Korean peninsular.
In his more than four decades of service, he spent 30 years working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); he served as a national security adviser in the senior Bush administration, and was a key player in many high-profile, controversial issues, including the Iran Contra Affair and, more recently, North Korea’s nuclear testing. Gregg has worked for three U.S. presidents in addition to the leaders of many foreign countries; has been grilled by top reporters, and continues to campaign for peace and understanding, particularly for Korea.

In honor of Chuseok, we thought it fitting for Mr. Gregg to share his thoughts on the issues and experiences of promoting peace on the Korean peninsula within the framework of so many competing issues and agendas.”
