Flu Vaccinations
WOODSTOCK --- The Woodstock Seniors Association and Day Kimball Healthcare will hold a 2010 seasonal flu/pneumonia immunization clinic for all adults 18 and older from 10 a.m. to noon at the Town Hall, Room 1. Insurance and prices vary. Wear short sleeves.

Dairy Exhibit
WOODSTOCK --- "Farmers, Cows and the Land," an exhibition about the modern history of dairy farming in Connecticut,  is on display at the Roseland Cottage carriage barn through Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Free.

Puppetry Exhibit
STORRS --- The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry will present two exhibits, "Punch and Judy: Handpuppets, Politics and Humor," and "Frank and Elizabeth Haines: An American Puppet Theater in the 1930s," through Dec. 19 at the UConn campus.  www.bimp.uconn.edu.

Ribbon Cutting

Corn Maze
POMFRET --- The Pomfret Recreation Department's Corn Maze, "Mezmer Eyes," is open from noon to 6 p.m. through Oct. 30. Fright Nights are Oct. 29 and 30. The maze is near the town's recreation field off Rt. 97. Benefits the PCS 8th grade class.

Spaghetti Dinner
W. WOODSTOCK --- The Church of the Good Shepherd will hold its first annual Spaghetti Dinner at 5 and 6:30 p.m. at the church on Bradford Corner Road. $8, adults; $5 kids under 12. Takeout, too. WOODSTOCK --- Members of the Muddy Brook Fire Department, Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association, Bungay Fire Brigade, and the Woodstock Town Hall are conducting a Canned Food and Boot Drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at the WVFA. A Boot Drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17 at Roseland Cottage and the Woodstock Transfer Station.  Benefits low-income Woodstock residents.

Free Maze
KILLINGLY --- The Killingly FFA Parents & Alumni Group, along with the Killingly FFA, will host a free corn maze from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Parking will be at the Killingly Intermediate School and a hay ride will take people to the maze.  The maze is geared for children 10 and under.  They will get a coloring book to follow through the maze, and there will be face painting and pumpkin painting as well.  Free. This is a community service project from both groups.
