The WPTP Hawks traveled to Enfield to take on the Ramblers without much success on the scoreboard. The teams played hard but a number of factors contributed to the defeats. The D team played outstanding (no score is kept at this level) with a tremendous effort on both sides of the ball. The C team struggled to keep up with a strong Rambler team and came out on the short end of a 58-24 score. The C team is a young group that is still learning, they continue to play hard and work to the end. The B team is also a very young team made up mostly of 10 year olds they also are in a learning process came up short on a 30-6 loss. The B team played tough but seem to get worn down in the end.
The A team fought hard and was leading in the third period when injuries and bad luck caught up to them and the Ramblers were able to pull out a 14-8 victory. This game was decided on a controversial call when A Rambler running back seemed to have fumbled but the referee said  the player was down. The Ramblers then drove the rest of the way to the winning score.
The A team worked hard to come back but could not catch a break and turned the ball over on downs. Coach Cliff Renshaw said, "This was a hard loss to take. The kids worked hard and kept battling but it just wasn’t meant to be”. The WPTP Hawks host The Tolland Eagles Sunday.
