PUTNAM --- Day Kimball Healthcare announces that Audrey Allard, nutritional services employee, is Day Kimball Hospital’s October Employee of the Month.
“I am shocked to be employee of the month,” said Allard. “This is the biggest compliment anyone can get as an employee. I am really excited and I always thought about what it would be like but never expected that it would happen to me.”
Allard has been working in Nutritional Services for five years and is currently at a Nutritional 2 ranking in the department which involves additional responsibilities. Her daily tasks include preparing food for patients, working in the cafeteria performing cashier duties, working at the grill and preparing desserts. She recently began training for the hospital’s Hospitality Café and will begin working there as well in the near future.
Before joining Day Kimball, Allard graduated from Ellis Technical High School and has since received her Makeup Artistry Certification in December of 2009 and an OPI Nail Technician Certification in June of 2010 from the Brio Academy of Cosmetology in Willimantic.
“I routinely receive compliments from customers about Audrey and her pleasant and courteous manner,” said Ruth Gregoire, director of nutritional services. “Audrey is a natural when it comes to great customer service and always has compassion and a smile for everyone.”
Allard enjoys getting to know other employees by name and meeting new people every day in her role of cashier and server. She also considers her co-workers as an extended family and appreciates their teamwork. Allard’s hobbies include fishing, reading and yoga. She currently lives in Moosup with her family.
