PUTNAM — Brenda Dupont, RN, in the Maternal Child Health Department, is Day Kimball Hospital’s November Employee of the Month.
Dupont has been part of the Day Kimball family for 20 years and has a number of responsibilities associated with her nursing position. These responsibilities include providing full patient care from labor and delivery to working in the Operating Room for Cesarean Sections. Dupont teaches the neonatal resuscitation program to physicians and nurses and is the Employee Wellness Champion in her department for the Employee Wellness committee. She has achieved Clinical III status in nursing and is a certified child birth instructor. Dupont also volunteers for the Medical Reserve Core through the Northeast District Department of Health and assists with providing influenza vaccinations.
Over the years, Dupont said the largest change she’s seen has been in technology. “The department now computerizes all charting which makes it easier for the staff and improves accuracy,” said Dupont. Dupont also works in OB/GYN practices affiliated with Day Kimball on a per diem basis.
Dupont received a bachelor of nursing degree from UConn and enjoys many activities including, exercise, knitting, making jewelry, skiing and traveling.
