Claire M. McGee,

QUINEBAUG — Claire (Guerin) McGee, 75, of Charlene Drive, died Nov. 16, 2010, in UMass Hospital University Campus, Worcester. She was the wife of Donald J. McGee for 55 years. Born in 1935 in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Emma (Lambert) Guerin.
Mrs. McGee graduated from Holy Name High School in Worcester in 1953. She went on to graduate from Clark University in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in English. She worked at the former American Optical Corporation for 24 years as a patent administrator before continuing this position in the private sector until her retirement in 1998.
She spent her retirement years going on a number of cruises, as well as typing for her husbands books, and enjoying time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she leaves sons, Michael McGee of Charlton, Thomas McGee (Denise) of Oxford, Mass., Donald McGee (Jean) of Charlton; daughter, Maryellen Menzone (Anthony) of Agawam, Mass.; sisters, Cecile Deschenes of Auburn, and Lorraine McDonough of Marassas, Va.; grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph and his wife Jessica, and Domenic Menzone, all of Agawam, Timothy McGee of Charlton, Carolyn, Donald, and Patrick McGee, all of Charlton, and Thomas, William and Mathew McGee, all of Oxford. She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Guerin, George Guerin, Norman Guerin, and Richard Guerin; and her daughter in-law, Marlene McGee.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 20 in St. Joseph Church, N. Grosvenordale. Valade Funeral Home, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
Peter Booker Sr.,

BROOKLYN — Peter W. Booker Sr., 67, of Paradise Drive, died Nov. 12, 2010. Son of the late George I. Booker and Alice E. Booker, he was born Aug. 6, 1943, in Sanford, Maine.
Peter was a devoted member of the Indian Trail Council for the Boy Scouts, Troop 44 of Brooklyn. He was also dedicated to the Quinebaug District Committee, serving in several positions for over 25 years. Peter was a machine operator for Pratt & Whitney of E. Hartford for over 30 years.
He leaves five children, Peter W. Booker II of Pomfret, Susan E. Wood (Lawrence) of Atlanta, George H. Booker (Sarah) of Danielson (parents of Michael H. Booker, Jasmine Bedard, and Alexis Bedard), Mary A. Booker of Brooklyn, Norman C. Booker of Norfolk (parent of Madison C. Booker); brother George S. Booker of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his brother Richard J. Booker.

Aileen A. Carlson,

POMFRET — Aileen A. Carlson, 82, of Pomfret, died Nov. 17, 2010, at UMass Medical Center, Worcester. She was the wife of Jack S. Carlson; they were married July 17, 1954.
She was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Zoralide (Therrien) Ask. Aileen worked for over 25 years as a research librarian at the American Optical in Southbridge. She was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Woodstock; served as church secretary for many years and was a member of the Church Choir. She had made her home in Pomfret for the last 19 years. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with her daughter. She enjoyed auto racing, her passion was the Indianapolis 500, which she made 43 trips to with her husband.
She leaves her husband Jack; daughter Rebecca Carlson of Naperville, Ill.; three nephews.

Raymond Korner,

W. YARMOUTH, Mass. — Raymond F. Korner, 70, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Crystal Pond, Eastford, and Manchester, died Nov. 20, 2010. He was the husband of Joanne (Lewis) Korner. Born Sept. 21, 1940, in Manchester, he was the son of the late A. Raymond and Francis (Hemler) Korner.
Ray served in the Connecticut Air National Guard from 1962 to 1966. He retired in 1993 after 33 years from the United Technologies Research Center in E. Hartford. Ray loved the beaches at Cape Cod, fishing and taking long rides near his home on the Cape and around Crystal Pond. He was very crafty with his hands and could fix just about anything, and enjoyed crafting birdhouses.
He leaves, in addition to his wife, Joanne, two children: James F. Korner (Penny) and Kathryn (Korner) DuBois (Glenn); three granddaughters, Myranda and Marisa Korner and Skylar DuBois. He was predeceased by his brother Doug Korner.

Anita Keroack,

DANIELSON — Anita C. Keroack, 93, of Davis Street, died Nov. 16, 2010, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Ballouville, daughter of the late Louis and Ella (Allard) Mondor.
She married James Keroack on Oct. 26, 1946. He died in 1999. She taught piano and organ and was church organist at St. Ignatius Church in Rogers. She also played the organ for special Masses at St. Joseph Church in Dayville and played for weddings of friends and relatives at St. James Church in Danielson. She also loved playing Bingo and worked at St. Joseph and St. Anne bingos in Dayville and Ballouville with her family for many years. She liked to go bowling and golfing.
She leaves her daughter Diane Keroack of Danielson.

‘Maxine’ Davis,

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Norma ‘Maxine’ Davis, 77 of Morgantown formerly of N. Grosvenordale, went home to be with her Lord Nov. 15, 2010.
She was born Oct. 28, 1933, in Cassville, a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Trout. She was a graduate of University High School class of 1951. On July 11, 1953, she married her childhood sweetheart, Virgil Davis.
She was employed as a seamstress at the Morgan Shirt Factory in Morgantown until she moved to N. Grosvenordale in 1963.
Maxine was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grosvenordale. She was a volunteer at the church as well as the school library.
Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter of Bristol; one brother, William Trout of Westover, W.Va.; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law.

Earl M. Suss
DUDLEY --- Earl M. Suss, 74, of 35 Lawrence Road, died Nov. 18, 2010, in his tree stand while hunting in Woodstock.
He was born in Dudley, son of the late Michael and Florence (Boudreau) Suss and lived in Dudley most of his life. He was a retired construction worker, last employed by Granger Construction. He was a member of the Pomfret Rod and Gun, and the Last Cast Anglers. An avid fisherman and hunter, he died doing what he loved best.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Annette “Netty” (Casavant) Suss of Dudley; a son, Michael J. Suss of Dudley; a daughter, Michele Suss of Florida; a sister, Virginia Krushefsky of Woodstock; three grandchildren, Amanda, Jessie and Samantha and one great-granddaughter, Emily.

Norma Miller
PLAINFIELD --- Norma J. (Swan) Miller, 81, of Easy Street, died Nov. 14, 2010, at Orchard Grove Specialty Care, Uncasville.
Her husband, Eugene C. Miller, died Nov. 12,1976. She was born in Washington, Penn., daughter of the late Charles and Maude (Wilson) Swan and lived in Plainfield most of her life. She had been employed by Knox Glass of Dayville.
Jeannie had done volunteer work at Day Kimball Hospital Physical Therapy in Plainfield where she enjoyed socializing and contributing to others’ healing and recovery, even if indirectly. Her compassion for others was pure and spontaneous.
She leaves two sons, Donald G. Miller of Pomfret Center and David L. Miller of Brooklyn; three sisters, Bonita Doubleday of Virginia, Leah Thomas of Cape Cod and Mila Sprowls of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Eugene Miller of Plainfield and Erica Miller of Norwich. She was predeceased by her brothers, Claire Swan and Charles Swan; and by a sister, Betty Lou Mounts.

Eleanora Gadoury
DUDLEY — Eleanora E. (Kokernak) Gadoury, 81, of Central Avenue, died Nov. 21, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Thompson. Her husband of 30 years, Henry J. Gadoury, died in 1971.
She was born and raised in Webster, a daughter of Stephen and Bertha (Fuchs) Kokernak, and lived in Dudley since her marriage in 1948. She was a graduate of Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Gadoury was a sorter in the stock room at Stevens Linen Associates for many years before retiring in 1993.
She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and visiting the casino.
She leaves three sons, Donald W. Gadoury of Webster, Richard P. Gadoury of Dudley, and James S. Gadoury (Maria) of Woodstock; three daughters, LuAnn Gadoury of Dudley, Jean E. Deary of Thompson and Janet E. Gadoury of Webster; eight grandsons; three granddaughters; a brother, Robert Kokernak and (Lorraine) of Webster; a sister, Alice Grzelecki of Webster; a sister-in-law. She was predeceased by two daughters, Karen Gadoury and Beverly Castrillo.

Judith Williams,

PUTNAM — Judith G. (Brown) Williams, 75, of Putnam went to be with the Lord Nov. 15, 2010. Judith was born Aug. 4, 1935, in New London, daughter of the late Lloyd and Edith Brown. Judith lived the majority of her life in Putnam. She married Carl Williams on March 16, 1957. They were married 35 years and he died in 1992.
Judith was highly devoted to her family throughout her life and enjoyed writing children’s stories and reading them to her grandchildren as well as the youngest members in the church. As a tribute to her strong faith, she served as an active member of the Putnam Baptist Church for over 40 years. While living at Little River Acres, her residence for the past 18 years, she served on the Board of Directors and worked as a caregiver to several of the residents. Judith also served as a volunteer at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn.
She leaves her daughter Cheryl Williams Sheehan of Clinton, Mass.; grandson Ryan Cournoyer (Olena) of Manhattan, N.Y.; sister Beverly Moir Hamilton (Ernest); nieces and nephews; two step granddaughters; three step great-grandchildren; two adopted grandchildren.
