Thomas Cacciapuoti,
active in Little League
BROOKLYN — Thomas John Cacciapuoti, 72, of Laurel Hill Road died Nov. 30, 2010, at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born June 24, 1938, in Putnam, son of the late Albert and Yolande (Valade) Cacciapuoti.
He was the husband of Leena (Vaananen) Cacciapuoti. They were married Aug. 26, 1984. Mr. Cacciapuoti served in the U.S. Air Force. His past employment included Day Kimball Hospital, Daughters of the Holy Spirit Provincial House, American Optical, The Golden Lamb Buttery, Shawn Patrick’s Greenhouse in Ashford and most recently CT Homecare Solutions.
He was very active in Little League where he served as a coach, former league president, and was an umpire for 37 years. He was an umpire for District 11 where he served as ADA umpire consultant and safety officer.
He leaves his wife of 26 years, Leena; sons, Joseph T. Cacciapuoti (Melissa) of Dayville, John T. Cacciapuoti of Paxton, Mass.; daughter Karen Provost (Tom) of Ashford; brothers and sisters, Alberta Smith (Lee) of Enfield, Marie Sampeck (Mike) of San Antonio, Texas,, Sister Anne Cacciapuoti, DHS, of Putnam, Patricia Johnson and husband Ray of Putnam, J. Paul Cacciapuoti (Janice) of Brooklyn and Jeanne Prindle (Terry)  of Putnam; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his stepdaughter Liisa Barton-Provost.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 6 at St. Mary Church of the Visitation in Putnam. with burial with full military honors at St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam. Donations: The Killingly Little League OR Brooklyn Little League, 52 Kenneth Drive, Dayville, CT 06241. Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson.

Frank Padula,
WWII vet
WOODSTOCK --- Frank J. Padula, 84, of Woodstock, and formerly of Sturbridge, died Dec. 3, 2010, at the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Caroline M. (Genatossio) Padula, to whom he been married to for over 60 years.
He was born in Boston and was the son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Sinisgalli) Padula.
While attending Charlestown High School, Frank worked as the youngest electrician at the Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard. Shortly after graduation, Frank was drafted into the Army in October 1944. His tour included Central Europe in WWII and received the American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged from the 253rd Infantry 63rd Division in July 1946.
In 1947, Frank received his Journeyman’s license as an electrician. He then began his professional career in May of 1948 by attending and graduating from General Electric’s management program. He continued his employment with GE in various management positions for 23 years. During the course of his tenure and growth with GE, came the opportunity for relocation to several states. His beloved wife and seven children were able to develop many long lasting friendships in New York, Indiana, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
In August of 1971, Frank accepted a new managerial position at American Optical until leaving to start his own consulting business, Padula Associates.
He met his wife of 60 years in October 1949, married in June of 1950 and went on to raise seven children together. His passions were fishing, golfing and traveling with his wife to visit family and long-time friends. He will always be fondly remembered for his quick wit, his funny jokes and stories, his love for music and singing, dancing with his lovely wife, and his dependable support and desire to always help those in need.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters, JoAnne M. Grubert (James) of Sturbridge, Angela Grubert of Southbridge, Marie E. Blais (David) of Woodstock, and Caroline F. Padula of Williamsburg, Va.; two sons, Frank P. Padula (Jan) of Panama City, Fla., and Joseph A. Padula (Gial) of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Dominic Padula of Dedham, Mass.; two sisters, Dorothy Dolan of Colorado, and Antonetta Lang of Florida; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Phillip J. Padula, and brother of the late Pasquale, Joseph, and Jeanne Padula, and Felice Crowe.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Dec. 10 from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, Southbridge, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.  at St. Anne’s Church, 16 Church St., Fiskdale, Mass. Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Fiskdale. Joy E. Orlomoski,

DANIELSON — Joy E. Orlomoski, 82, of Danielson, died Dec. 2, 2010, at Regency Heights. She was born May 5, 1928, in Hartford, daughter of the late Peter and Gertrude (McHue) McSweeney. She was the wife of the late Ralph E. Orlomoski who died May 31, 2005.
Mrs. Orlomoski graduated from Manchester High School in 1946. She worked as a bookkeeper for Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford and also Rogers Redevelopment Agency. She loved to cook and worked at The Lake Tavern and Cozy Corner Restaurant and retired from Kaman Aerospace in Moosup.
She leaves her children, Ellen-joy Wood (Bradley) of Danielson, Sharon E. Tremblay (Roger) of Brooklyn and Sheila J. Romagnano  (Alex) of Danielson; brother, Leo McSweeney of Danielson; grandchildren, Theresa, Matthew, Roger D. Jr., Stacy, Alex Jr., Angela, Michael and Daniel and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Ralph M. Orlomoski.

Jane Elizabeth
Tackling
WAUREGAN — Jane Elizabeth Tackling, 54, of Brookhaven, N.Y., and formerly of Wauregan, died Nov. 15, 2010, at Stony Brook Medical Center in Brookhaven.
She was born Aug. 2, 1956, in New London, daughter of the late John Emile and Anne (Morgan) Tackling.
She grew up in South Kingstown, R.I., and in 1974 graduated from the Prout School with honors. She attended Widener University and the University of Rhode Island. She was employed by Foxwoods Resort Casino as a table games dealer for nearly 10 years before her retirement. She loved to laugh, enjoyed life, her family, friends, volunteer work and especially her two cats, Simon and Sammy.
She leaves one brother, Paul E. Tackling of Narragansett, R.I.; and cousin, Brenda Pray of Canterbury. She was predeceased by her sister Bridget M. Tackling and brother, Kevin P. Tackling.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 10 in Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson. Burial will be private. Donations: St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
