POMFRET - Seven students from Pomfret School attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in San Diego, California, December 2-4.
Hosted by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), The Student Diversity Leadership Conference is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of upper school student leaders (grades 9–12) from around the country. It focuses on self-reflecting, forming allies, and building community. Participants examine issues of social justice, develop effective cross-cultural communication skills, practice expression through the arts, and learn networking principles and strategies. Now in its 17th year, The Student Diversity Leadership Conference encourages students to apply the leadership principles they develop within their own communities after the conference.
Pomfret students attending included Amanda Nichols ’11, Izabel Tropnasse ’13, Kevin Hutchinson ’12, Dejda Collins ’12, Holly Williams ’11, Reanne Wong ’11, and Natasha Pena ’11. (see attached photo)
